Jacquard Loom

A horizontal loom where each warp is threaded through a heddle, and each heddle can be individually controlled, often through a computer interface.

Specifically, bitmap image are used to "program" the lifting and lowering of heddles, with black pixels representing warps raised and white representing warps lowered.
